It’s July – chances are you’ll be taking every opportunity you can to get out of the office. You’ll set your auto-reply and update your voicemail. You’ll try to disconnect on a beach or mountain somewhere. However, if you’re like me, you’ll be wondering in the back of your mind if those auto-replies are costing you business, or if you’re missing important phone calls.
It doesn’t have to be this way! Read our out of office voicemail examples below and relax worry-free knowing your calls are well taken care of.
The Joker is someone who has a need to make those around them smile. Plus, some good humour is a great way to mask just how much you don’t want people to call you while you’re away.
“Hi, you’ve reached Egor at Versature. I’ll be real – I’m on a mountain or a beach right enjoying my vacation, and can’t take your call. I’ll probably be back on July 10th – unless the weather stays this good! If you REALLY need to get in touch with me feel free to tweet at me with the hashtag #InterruptEgorsVacation and I’ll be sure to reply. Meanwhile, press 0 to be connected to Hannah – she can probably answer any questions I can – or stay on the line to leave a voicemail.”
The Pro is someone who is efficient, effective, and on top of their game. Their voicemail greeting is nothing but business: why they’re gone, when will they be back, are they reachable in emergencies, and an alternate contact.
“Hello, you’ve reached Egor Evseev at Versature, I am currently taking my annual vacation in Pembroke, Ontario. I will be back on July 10th, 2017. I have limited access to my phone and email. For urgent inquiries please press 0 to be connected to Hannah Warren, or call extension 138. She will get back to you shortly. Thank you very much!”
The Salesman is someone who knows that keeping their business running smoothly is what’s important. They also get the basics down but they know that if they miss that call – they miss that business. So what do they do? Set up an operator redirect, and make sure that if someone is calling about their business they get a human.
