Versature Funds Vehicle for Youth Services Bureau

Versature Delivers on “Pledge 1%” Commitment by funding new vehicle for Youth Services Bureau Mobile Crisis Intervention Team

Versature enables YSB’s Mobile Crisis Intervention Team with 3-year vehicle funding commitment for crucial 24/7 outreach programs that aid Ottawa youth in crisis.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OTTAWA, CANADA – November 28, 2017 – Versature Corp. announces today a community partnership with the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB) to provide transportation support for crucial outreach programs assisting youth in crisis.

“Having seen first-hand the impact that YSB has in our community, in my mind, there was no better organization to support as part of our 1-1-1 initiative than the YSB. Providing a vehicle for the Mobile Crisis Intervention Team to assist youth in their moment of need makes me feel that, in a small way, Versature can help teens where and when they need help most. It’s an honour to be associated with an organization like the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa,” says Paul Emond, CEO of Versature Corp.

Versature has a long-standing commitment to corporate philanthropy through their 1-1-1 program which dedicates 1% of time, 1% of product and 1% of equity to charity based initiatives. The vehicle, funded by Versature as part of the 1-1-1 program, will provide transportation for the Mobile Crisis and Residential Crisis Unit to support youth and families at their most critical and vulnerable times.

“We’re honoured to have Versature’s support as we partner together in supporting at-risk youth 12 and older throughout the Ottawa community. As part of our youth mental health crisis response programming, YSB offers a bilingual Mobile Crisis Team that travels across the community to meet young people and their families when they are experiencing a crisis. Having a new, dependable vehicle for this team – to replace their current 11 year-old vehicle – means we can reach youth and families and provide support at a critical time. Last year, our counsellors provided nearly 300 home visits to high-risk youth and their families,” says Patti Murphy, Executive Director, Youth Services Bureau Charitable Foundation.

This investment in YSB outreach programs continues to build upon Versature’s commitment to giving back as a fundamental corporate value and pillar of the corporate culture. To this end, Versature, today on Giving Tuesday (#GivingTuesday), is issuing a challenge to all Canadian Technology companies to establish an organized program like Pledge 1% to support and give back to communities in which they live and work.
